John Holtz Lecture

“The Age of Lincoln” LectureVernon Burton, Professor of History at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, will lecture on the subject of his book The Age of Lincoln. The event is sponsored by the Friends of Brookens Library, and we encourage you to join us 13 February at 7pm in the Public Affairs Center rooms C & D to hear Dr. Burton’s engaging and well-researched presentation. Admission is free, and there will be a reception and book signing following the lecture.

  1. I love history, and I used to work with John Holtz. I wish I had known about this lecture, I would have tried to get time off from work and attend. I think it’s great that there is a lecture series named after Mr. Holtz. When he was alive he was intellectually curious.

  2. I wish I had known that there was a John Holtz Lecture Series. These are probably lectures that Mr. Holtz would have wanted to attend himself, if he were alive today.

    I used to work with John Holtz, and if I find out about a John Holtz lecture before it happens, I will make an effort to rearrange my schedule to be there.
