What is your favorite thing about being a student at UIS?: My favorite thing about being a UIS student is the close community we all share. I like that classes are small; my professors know my name and I’m not just a number in a classroom. UIS is the perfect size for me, which is why it was and still is my first choice!

What are your goals for the semester?: My goals for this semester include earning at least a 3.5 GPA. I also want to help and mentor new students and continue to be active on campus. I also hope to be on a Springfest team this year too!

If there were a reality TV show of your life, what would it be called? Why?: “The new age 20 year old life of a poor but willing college student; as told by Connie Sifuentes”. I think the title says enough, but I think most college students will be able to relate to this potential TV show. It will literally be about every struggle us college student go through but continue to do it because loans don’t pay themselves. *cries*

Are you involved in any clubs/activities/sports on campus? Or what are your hobbies?: I am a member of Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority Inc., the Marketing chair for Psychology club, and I am also a mentor for the Necessary Steps mentoring program. Being involved in crucial for a full college experience. It also helps your college experience fun!

What have you learned since working at the library?: I learned that you can work and also have fun! Being part of a team is not only essential for accomplishing goals but also good because you always have at least one person willing to help you out when you need it. Research skills are also a plus!

What are your post-graduation plans?: I plan to go to Graduate school where I’ll get a Masters in Counseling/Clinical Psychology. I then hope to continue my education by earning my doctorate and becoming a child/adolescent psychologist. I also hope to have my own private practice one day!
