How To Tuesday: ESL and Curriculum Books

Welcome back to How To Tuesday where the SPARK team brings you the ultimate weekly guide to navigating Brookens Library.  This week is an exciting week for us and many institutions as it is International Education Week! So this How To Tuesday we are showing you where our Curriculum Collection is as well as highlighting some of the resources that can be found in it. Furthermore, we explore the English as a Second Language (ESL) collection.  We hope you enjoy!

The Curriculum Collection is currently housed on the fourth floor and contains many of the books you probably read with your teacher in kindergarten through high school. Titles like the Divergent series and The Hunger Games can be found here. Additionally, there are many “Teacher Edition” books available for checkout. These often include notes, answers, and lesson plan advice. Books in the Curriculum Collection can be checked out for 2 weeks at a time with 1 renewal available. There is also seating and coffee tables located in the Curriculum Collection for optimal browsing.

Our English as a Second Language (ESL) Collection is located on the main floor, directly to the left of the librarian suite. Books located in this collection are aimed at increasing one’s proficiency and comfort with the English language. These books can be checked out for up to 4 weeks and are allowed 1 renewal.

As always if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to approach the circulation desk.  Thank you for tuning in this week and we look forward to next week’s How To Tuesday.
