International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of their efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences.
At UIS, the office of International Student Services is partnering with units across campus to promote their International Education week events. Here at Brookens Library, we’re very excited about the week and have two international education events to help celebrate:
Read Around the World: Pairing Global Lit and Hot Sips – November 13, 2018, Brookens Library
Choose your favorite beverage and see its international book match. Whether you’re in the mood for fiction or nonfiction, hot chocolate or apple cider, there’s a beverage and book pairing here to help you celebrate International Education Week! Take a break from your studies, peruse our book collection spotlighting different countries and global authors, and pour yourself a hot (or cold) one.

By taking this short survey, you’ll be providing invaluable information to Brookens library that we can use to refine and improve our services. The survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete and is your best opportunity to tell us how we can meet your needs.
