What is your favorite thing about being a student at UIS?:The small size of the university makes it feel like home, along with those on campus. i enjoy having a university that is small, because the relationships you are able to establish with your professors and administrators is something that would be impossible if I were at another university. The opportunities presented at this campus also makes the list as one of my favorite things about UIS.

What are your goals for the semester?: A few of my goals are to continue to develop as an individual in terms of leadership skills, to finish off all of my graduate school applications before the initial deadlines, and to laugh more and worry less. During my undergrad I did quite a bit of stressing, and that has hindered my enjoyment many of the things that UIS offers. Because it is my last year, I want to enjoy it while also learning so that my experience here is memorable.

If there were a reality TV show of your life, what would it be called? Why?: It’s Lit Like a Candle- I’d probably choose this because there is never a point in my life that SOMETHING isn’t happening. I’ve always been busy and involved on campus, but I thoroughly enjoy it. I’ve also been privileged to meet people at UIS that have made my time here so much more entertaining.

I have learned a ton of research skills as a student assistant. I also hope to continue to learn how to service others to the best of my abilities.

What are your post-graduation plans?: I plan to enroll in a masters program studying psychology or something related to that field. Once I obtain a masters degree, I’d like to work towards earning my Ph.D. I am super excited about my life after graduation!

What is your favorite thing about being a student at UIS?: My favorite thing about being a student at UIS is that the campus size is not too large, which means you can get to know your professors and your classmates better. I keep seeing familiar faces in my classes and I actually got to know some awesome individuals! And since the class size ranges from small to medium, every student has equal opportunities to get directly involved in class activities as well!

What are your goals for the semester?: Since this will be my last semester at UIS, I will keep staying focused on my studies as I have always been in order to gain the best results. After all, I always aim to maintain a solid performance with whatever I am working on.

If there were a reality TV show of your life, what would it be called? Why?: I would probably name it “Let it proof” to show how patience and enduring effort can gradually put you in a better place day after day. I hope that could be something motivational to keep others going.

Are you involved in any clubs/activities/sports on campus? Or what are your hobbies?: I am not actively involved in any clubs or activities on campus. During my free time I often spend time cooking/baking or drawing. These are the two activities that I can spend hours and hours tirelessly.

What have you learned since working at the library?: I have learned to slow down and always double check my work because our priority is accuracy and precision after all. I also realized that other than processing actual books we got lots of online projects to work on. My communication skills has improved as communication is the key to keep everyone on the same page and to clear any confusions between me, my bosses, and other fellow student workers.

What are your post-graduation plans?: Upon graduation I will certainly start on my job search! I am planning on applying for an advertising agency because I love to work under a creative environment!

What is your favorite thing about being a student at UIS?: My favorite thing about being a student at UIS is the small campus. Being at a smaller campus allows for a more supportive community as there are more people to help with whatever you need. It is also easier to get around campus as there are fewer buildings to have to keep track of.

What are your goals for the semester?: My goals for this semester are to take it easy unlike other semesters. I am taking fewer credit hours than I have in past semesters as I do not want to burn myself out as I try to sort out other things I have to get done before I graduate and plan for post graduation.

If there were a reality TV show of your life, what would it be called? Why?: A reality TV show of my life would be titled “The Life of a Video Game Nerd.” It would follow me as I go to work and sit at a computer for most of the time to do work stuff, and then come home to again sit at a computer except I play video games for the rest of the day. Exciting stuff I know.

Are you involved in any clubs/activities/sports on campus? Or what are your hobbies?: As of right now I am not involved with much on campus. I enjoy playing video games with my friends whenever we can. It is what I do to unwind for the day and relax.

What have you learned since working at the library?: Since working at the library, I have learned many useful skills such as basic work ethic and etiquette as well as communication. I have also learned a lot of researching skills which are very useful in today’s world with the sheer amount of information available on the Internet. These skills along with others will help prepare me for my career when I graduate.

What are your post-graduation plans?: After graduation I plan to start a career at some tech company. I am leaning towards app development and/or web design as those seem interesting and in demand. At some point I would like to work for Google as I think they are a great company that have many interesting projects they are working on.
