Graduate Internship – Spring 2011
Open to Graduate Students in History and Political Studies
Eligible for renewal in 2011-12 academic year.
Description of Internship
The intern in this position provides reference services for Illinois Regional Archives Depository (IRAD) holdings of historic local governmental records, assists in processing and arranging new accessions, and prepares finding aids such as descriptive inventories, container listings, and indexes.
The intern is required to perform IRAD duties for 20 hours per week during the internship. Interns are contractual employees of the Secretary of State and must complete a contract. This contract will run from January, 2011 to May 31, 2011. Contracts may be extended for the months of June and July, and the person hired for Spring 2011 will be eligible for renewal in the 2011-12 academic year.
Tuition and Compensation
The Illinois State Archives will pay the intern $800 per month for 20 hours of work per week and will provide up to $1,250 for tuition and fees for the Spring 2011 semester.
